Don’t be too afraid of experimenting – moderation is the key! I learnt not to fear judgement for leaving food on the plate – or to find friends to share portions with.

For me, I’ve found that alcohol is best taken with a low-GI meal, to minimise the abrupt rise and then crash a few hours later! A big glass of water or sugar-free tea after an alcoholic drink or two, helps with maintaining hydration as well.
