Type 1 diabetes arises when the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas are destroyed, leading to an inability to produce insulin. This condition is usually associated with an autoimmune response. Currently, there is no effective method to prevent the development of type 1 diabetes, and its onset is not linked to factors such as weight, lifestyle choices, or specific dietary habits. Once type 1 diabetes develops, it cannot be reversed, and the only available treatment is lifelong insulin replacement.
