“Every Step Together” – A Landmark Summit on Limb Health & Diabetes Awareness

“Every Step Together” was hosted by Diabetes Singapore, together with distinguished partners (Moderna, Contour, Better Life Psychological Medicine Clinic, The Foot Practice Podiatry Clinic, Rophi Clinic, and Lions Club of Singapore Caring Palms), along with Mr. Mohd Fahmi Aliman, Mayor of the South East District, as the Guest of Honour. This event was held in conjunction with World Immunization Week and World Limb Month.

The summit featured a dynamic range of discussions:

• Dr. Chan Soo Ling  explored the intricate links between diabetes management and limb health.
• Dr. Ling Li Min specifically highlighted the importance of immunization for people with diabetes and the elderly, stressing the heightened risk of infections in these groups and the protective benefits of vaccines such as those for influenza, pneumococcal disease, hepatitis B, and COVID-19.
• Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Senior Clinical Psychologist, discussed the psychological impacts of diabetes and strategies for mental wellness.
• Mr. Timothy Maiden, Lead Podiatrist, offered his expert knowledge on foot care and prevention of diabetes-related limb issues.
• Chef Sid provided a session on healthy cooking, focusing on how dietary choices can support diabetes management and overall health.
