Candy, Female, 26 years with T1D

I started using an insulin pump in 2016 and used glucose monitors ad-hoc, due to cost as well as learning to adjust to having a constant stream of data coming in about my BG levels. My formative years was spent without diabetes technology simply because it wasn’t as widely available as it is now. Now, with the subsidised CGM, I’ve had a 90% reduction in no. of needles used per month – from almost 300 needles (injections and finger pricks) to 30 needles (CGM and pump). This makes a world of difference to me.
