The celebration of World Diabetes Day 2023, under the ‘Access to Diabetes Care’ theme, represented a pivotal moment of unity and advancement in the quest for better diabetes care and awareness. Hosted at Wisma Geylang Serai, the event was a vibrant testament to the spirit of cooperation and progress that defines our community. This year’s World Diabetes Day was distinguished by remarkable collaborations, bringing together 19 corporate partners and 11 community organisations in solidatory with Diabetes Singapore.
Record breaking achievements: The event saw the setting of two Singapore Book of Records titles for the largest canvas painting and the largest workshop on insulin injection, showcasing our collective creativity and commitment to diabetes awareness.
Cyber Essentials Mark: We were honoured to receive the Cyber Essentials Mark, affirming our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of data security – a critical aspect of modern healthcare.
Launch of BEACON: The inauguration of BEACON (Balance Empowerment and Community Outreach Network) marked the beginning of a dedicated support of network aimed at enhancing the lives of individuals with diabetes through empowerment and community support.
We extended our heartfelt thanks to Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Law, for her esteemed presence as our Guest of Honour. Her participation further highlighted the importance of governmental support in fights against diabetes.
